Can US traders access HYPE / Hyperliquid?

What the Hyperliquid Terms say, and what regulated HYPE perpetuals on US venues are.

Facts last checked 2026-11-02.

Short answer: No, not the onchain Hyperliquid interface. Under its Terms, Hyperliquid's interface is not available to US persons. Eligible US traders can, however, access a regulated HYPE perpetual on US venues such as Crypto.com / OG.com Markets and Kalshi. That is a different product from trading on Hyperliquid L1: a separately regulated contract, offered through a separate venue under separate rules.

What Hyperliquid's Terms say

Section 1.6 of the Hyperliquid interface Terms defines “Restricted Persons”. It includes persons or entities that reside in, are located in, are incorporated in, or have a registered office in:

The interface is also described as not licensed or registered, and Restricted Persons are not permitted to use it. Read the Terms directly at app.hyperliquid.xyz/terms.

This page does not offer workarounds. US persons should not try to get around these restrictions, including by masking their location. Doing so may breach the Terms and could create legal and financial risk.

What a “HYPE perp” on Crypto.com / OG means

The wording is easy to misread. A regulated HYPE perpetual on a US venue is not:

It is a derivatives contract tied to HYPE's price, offered inside a US-regulated structure. Check each venue's contract specifications for settlement, collateral and fee details; this page does not state them.

What was announced. Crypto.com and OG.com announced the public launch of regulated US crypto perpetuals on October 27, 2026, for eligible US traders only, through the Crypto.com App (retail) and the Crypto.com Exchange (advanced and institutional).

Key marketed features, as of 2026-11-02:

Launch set. The Exchange product news lists BTC, ETH, SOL, HYPE and ZEC. A September 30 OG.com Markets notice also referenced SEI among its crypto perps. Launch copy often omits SEI, so verify which contracts are live for your account.

Regulatory structure, based on the venue's disclosures: Foris DAX Inc. is an NFA-registered Introducing Broker; Foris DAX FCM, LLC is a CFTC-registered FCM, where customer accounts are held; North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (d/b/a OG.com Markets and Crypto.com | Derivatives North America) is a CFTC-registered DCM and DCO.

Regulated does not mean risk-free. Leveraged perpetuals can lose value quickly, and funding costs accrue while you hold a position.

Kalshi also lists HYPE perps

Kalshi markets itself as offering the first CFTC-regulated US true perpetuals. BTCPERP was approved May 29, 2026, with listing around June 2, 2026. Its crypto perps include BTC, ETH, SOL, HYPE and ZEC, among others. Funding occurs every 8 hours, per Kalshi's help content.

Leverage on Kalshi varies by asset and changes over time. A live page we checked showed roughly 2.4x for HYPE (versus about 6.8x for BTC). Treat those numbers as a snapshot, not a fixed rule, and check the current page before comparing with any other venue.

Other US-regulated perpetual-style products exist, but we have not confirmed HYPE availability on them. Check each provider's help pages and filings directly.

For non-US readers

If you are located outside the US and outside other restricted jurisdictions, you may want a directory of apps and tools built around the Hyperliquid ecosystem. This site's Hyperliquid apps listing compares them by builder revenue, volume and fees; see also the trading terminals category and Hyperliquid fees.

Disclaimer: The listing covers apps and tools in the Hyperliquid ecosystem. It is not an invitation for US persons to use them. US persons remain restricted from the Hyperliquid interface under its Terms. Eligibility depends on your own jurisdiction and circumstances, so read the Terms and local rules before using any product. This site is unofficial and not affiliated with Hyperliquid.

FAQ

Is HYPE the same as Hyperliquid trading?

No. HYPE is a token associated with the Hyperliquid ecosystem. “Trading Hyperliquid” usually means using its onchain interface to trade perpetuals. A regulated HYPE perpetual on a US venue gives price exposure through a different structure, with its own rules, margin terms and fees. Holding the token, trading on Hyperliquid L1 and trading a regulated HYPE contract are three distinct things.

Can US persons use a VPN?

No, and we do not suggest it. The Terms restrict persons who reside in, are located in or are incorporated in the US, based on their actual status. Masking your location does not change that status and may violate the Terms. If you are an eligible US trader, use venues that are available to you under US rules.

Where can eligible US traders get regulated HYPE exposure?

As of 2026-11-02, two venues show a HYPE perpetual: Crypto.com / OG.com Markets (Crypto.com App and Exchange, eligible US only) and Kalshi (leverage varies by asset). Eligibility, state-level restrictions, contract specs and fees can differ and can change. Confirm them on each official page before you trade.
